Paper / Hot Drinks

For hot drinks: Hot drink cups need insulation. Foam cups are a thing of the past and handled cups have also fallen out of favour. Today, double-wall paper cups are the popular choice but there are also insulated plastic cups, espresso cups, and reusable handled glasses for latte and Gluhwein.

For cold drinks: Single wall paper cups are suitable for cold drinks and warm drinks.

Recycling: Paper cups are not easily recycled because they are a mixed material. However,  EcoKay cups from ISAP have a biodegradable plastic lining which is thin enough to degrade even when dropped as litter. Plastic cups can be easily recycled.
